In 2005 Hereford and More began it’s journey as Farm Factory Direct. Robert and Margaret Deverell together with their son Ivor identified the benefit in supplying Certified Irish Hereford Prime Beef direct to the consumer. Robert had been instrumental in establishing the now well recognised beef producer group, Irish Hereford Prime. Prior to this, Irish Hereford Prime Beef was only available through food service in top hotels and restaurants. Hence the name Farm Factory Direct.
As passionate food producers, it didn’t take the Deverell’s long to connect with other like minded producers through the Offaly Delicious network. This saw the shop’s offerings extend beyond beef to include quality, Irish produced lamb, chicken and an increasing range of ambient and chilled artisan products. Popular local suppliers included Lawlor’s Kilbeggan Organic Oats and Ralph Haslems Mossfield Organic cheeses, yoghurt and milk. From the beginning, the emphasis on any product supplied in Deverell’s shop has always been quality, local and Irish.
In 2011, to reflect this increased product offering, Farm Factory Direct became Hereford and More and relocated to it’s current premises in the Tanyard, Tullamore, Co. Offaly. Margaret and Ivor continue to take great pride in supplying customers with quality, locally sourced food offerings.
