Congratulations to eco-print and graphic design company, The Factory, on being named as a Finalist in the 2022 Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) Energy Awards. The company, based in Five Alley near Birr, is run by father and daughter team, Brendan and Lisa Dooley.
The company is nominated in the Small to Medium Enterprise category, and have invested in a number of innovative energy-reduction and renewable initiatives to improve their green performance. The company now generate 65% of their heat and power needs from solar and wind generation on-site, manage 5 acres of land for biodiversity, introduced LED lighting and rain water harvesting, fitted an air-to-water heating system, and use an electric vehicle for local deliveries. The business is a great example to small and medium businesses on making more sustainable choices, and share their journey via their social media channels.
The nomination is the latest in a number of green awards for the business, having previously won trophies at the Green Awards and a sustainability award at the Local Enterprise Offices national awards.
