A thriving enterprise sector in the Midlands is supported by the Midlands Regional Enterprise Plan. The Midlands continues to be one of the fastest growing regions in the country in terms of job creation, with strong performances from all sectors.

The Midlands Regional Enterprise Plan Steering Committee is focused on achieving the strategic objectives for the region, and brings together all key stakeholders in the region for a triple helix approach of industry, government and academia.

  • Well-educated workforce with educational attainment levels in line with the national average
  • High proportion of foreign nationals, meaning high levels of diversity in language
  • High ratio of jobs to resident workers meaning a positive net inflow of talent with access to neighbouring regions.

The central location is serviced by a network of Motorways and Rail lines, meaning access to airports, coastal cities and ports are typically within an hour of the key regional urban centres.
