Let’s Talk About Tech – Midlands ICT Network Supports Event

The Midlands’ tech community is set to come together for a pivotal event, Let’s Talk About Tech. This free event is aimed at connecting tech businesses, entrepreneurs, and students with key ICT supports. The event will take place on March 11th, 2025, at the Radisson Hotel, Athlone, from 10:00am to 1:00pm.

This highly anticipated gathering will provide a unique opportunity for Midlands-based tech professionals, startups, and students to gain insights into available funding, skills development, and supply chain opportunities. Attendees will hear directly from key representatives across multiple support agencies, including Enterprise Ireland, the Local Enterprise Office (LEO), WestBIC, as well as education and training organisations such as Technological University of the Shannon, the region’s Education and Training Boards, and Skillnet.

MC and keynote speaker for the event will be renowned future of work expert Peter Cosgrove of Futurewise. A well-known author, media commentator and regular conference speaker, Peter is an expert on topics of the future of work, and in particular will look at the impact of technology and AI on future skills and the workplace of the future.

The Let’s Talk About Tech event is proudly organised by the Midlands ICT Network, a dynamic triple helix dedicated to fostering innovation and growth within the region’s technology sector. Established as a key action of the Midlands Regional Enterprise Plan, the Network is aiming to unite Midlands ICT businesses, academic institutions, and government agencies in a collaborative effort to position the Midlands as an internationally recognised centre of excellence in Smart Connected Technologies. Through coordinated actions in research and development, skills enhancement, marketing, and ecosystem development, the Midlands ICT Network strives to create a sustainable and resilient digital innovation hub, driving economic prosperity and offering quality employment opportunities across the region.
