The Midlands Regional Enterprise Plan Pathway for Just Transition Programme seeks to accelerate the delivery of the Work Packages of the Midlands Regional Enterprise Plan, with the provision of dedicated resources to deliver on the sectoral ambitions for the region, as we transition to a net zero economy. This investment is needed to realise new opportunities and growth for the region. The Work Packages cross cut the scheme themes of A Green Territory, A Smart Territory and A Social Territory.

The defined Work Packages, drivers for change, were identified through extensive regional stakeholder consultation during the preparation of the Midlands Regional Enterprise Plan and the Midlands Engagement Process. The Work Package areas are defined as:

  1. Midlands Pathway to Transition – supporting the transition to a net zero economy
  2. Delivering the Midlands Advanced Manufacturing Action Plan
  3. Delivering the Midlands ICT Action Plan
  4. Delivering the Midlands Ireland Placemaking Programme
  5. Delivering the Midlands Ireland Regional Food and Drink Strategy

The Midlands Regional Enterprise Plan Pathway to Just Transition Programme is led by Laois County Council in conjunction with the County Councils of Longford, Offaly and Westmeath.
